ONE MOVIE – 7 CITIES IN THE WORLD
Virginia meets a young man, one morning at dawn, on a Parisian bench. It is not yet clear that this will be a beautiful love story that she will live with him. She did not know that it will not be the man of her life. But what she knows even less, is that a chain reaction will begin, all around the planet, in Paris, Rio de Janeiro, NEW YORK, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Dubai, Tel Aviv and she is, herself, the first act of it. She will meet someone again, and have a new beautiful story, even more enjoyable.

🔒 The Great Feckin’ Tree

The Great Feckin' Tree - Short Film - Short of the Month - Online Short Film Festival June 2016

Film not yet available for public screening.
Trailer not available.

A Lumberjack emerges from the forest upon an open glade. He surveys the area, searching for a worthy tree to fell. He spies one in the form of The Great Feckin’ Tree, an Elder Oak. The Lumberjack charges across the glade.

The Lumberjack winds up. Before the axe finds its mark, however, The Great Feckin’ Tree shouts. The Lumberjack reels back as The Great Feckin’ Tree reprimands him. The Lumberjack tries to cut again. The Tree screeches, rebuking the Lumberjack into submission.

At an impasse, The Tree challenges the Lumberjack to shave off his beard in order to gain the right to cut it down. The Lumberjack hesitantly accepts and departs from the glade. Later that night, the Lumberjack trims his beard.

The next day, the Lumberjack returns to the Tree. The Lumberjack, as he winds for yet another strike, is rebuked again not by the Tree’s screeches but rather by its words. The Tree implores the Lumberjack to see reason.

The Tree tells the Lumberjack of the predations of others like himself, destroying in seconds that which took decades to grow. The Lumberjack, reminded of the scraps of his beard he once held in his hands, is awakened to a newfound empathy and resolves to change his path: one that was never made by his own choice. Reconciling with the Tree, the Lumberjack returns to his cabin.

The Lumberjack emerges from his cabin. He leaves his axe propped against the wall of the cabin and walks to the edge of the forest. Taking one last look at his family’s cabin, he departs on a new journey to understand his place in the world.

🔒 The Journey

The Journey - Short Film - Short of the Month - Online Short Film Festival June 2016

Film not yet available for public screening.
Trailer not available.

“The Journey” is a 2D Motion Graphics. The story is based on the artist’s life when she lost her luggage traveling between continents. In the film, a young boy is the narrator. And the main character is actually the luggage, who enjoys the unexpected adventures he encounters on the trip.
I use a Low Poly Vector Style and a splashy palette. Purple is my favorite color to help recreate childhood sensations. I have the young boy narrate the story that includes fun, fear and unexpected events; so it is easy to follow and further suggests a child-like innocence.
