A Forgotten Pearl

As resettlement initiatives take place in the North of Sri Lanka, following the end of the war in 2009, the children who were affected psychologically due to the war have still not recovered from their trauma. Additionally, child marriages that took place during war-time gave birth to many children in broken homes. This film follows the story of a young boy, who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after the war. He is the only child of young parents who were forced into marriage as children. This short film explores how he is affected by marital problems between his parents and how he attempts to escape his living hell.
